Comments - Ideas for Women

When it comes to History project many homeschool teachers are at a loss. I will admit that I was as well for the longest time. I just didn?t know what to do or how to go about doing it. After lots of trials and errors and the countless hours of research I found some great ideas. This week?s idea is a Blank Timeline Book.

Blank Timeline Books are the easiest ongoing History project you can do with your children. Get a notebook of some sort, it cna be any kind that you want or create. Fill each page with date in History, again you select the dates. We set one up at the beginning of each school year and include the dates we will be studying that year. As you learn about a subject, places, etc in History you give the children an illustration of the subject. They glue the illustration onto the correct dates thus creating their own timeline!? I also have the kids write a sentence or two about the subject in their own words. The illustrations can be printed, hand drawn, or any other way you choose.

?

At the end of the year we use the timeline as a simple study guide for the Final Exams. since the kids wrote out the information and have a visual with the illustrations they retain the information better.
