A lot of new info on Rockstar?s Grand Theft Auto has been released recently, thanks to the big coverage on the December issue of Game Informer. And now even more details are coming, thanks to a new interview with Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser.

Mr Houser has stated that playing Grand Theft Auto 5 will be like ?taking a holiday? in the city of Las Santos, thanks to the possibility of creating detailed fictional landscapes for open world games: it?s not just simply exploring the game?s locations but also taking part in many different activities.

The team?s goal was to create a coherent world and making both the shoot out parts and the driving parts equally important and well developed: the environment itself and the way it?s presented have helped the developers make some missions even more extreme, taking inspiration from some stories they really heard in LA and giving them an almost ?Hollywood? feeling and presentation.
Houser also reveals that the GTA 5 world has been expanded with aircraft in mind since a lot of missions will require flying with both planes and helicopters. Additionally radio play during missions won?t be present: it?s all to make the world feel more realistic and also increase tension during missions; the game though won?t be entirely silent during these moments since Rockstar included a theatrical sounding soundtrack into the mix, all in the name of true atmosphere building.

If you?re looking for a cheap vacation, look no further, Los Santos is waiting for you. Beware of criminals rampaging the streets though!
