First photo from Bond film 'Skyfall' released

The 007 Twitter account sent out this photo from the set of "Skyfall."

Last week, we told you that the next James Bond film, "Skyfall," was underway, with Daniel Craig back as?the iconic spy?and an unknown (and bland) someone tweeting as 007.

Much as?we've encouraged?that account to develop?some personality, for the moment it is, as Movieline puts it, simply a Twitter account for James Bond marketing.

It did its job today, tweeting a photo of the first scene being filmed for the new film, which is actually scene 45 according to the slate. Peek around the slate and you can see one of those elegant, high-money locations for which the Bond series is noted -- wait, no you can't. You see a filthy bathroom. Let's hope Bond isn't lying on the floor with a "Saw"-like dilemma facing him -- didn't the original film in that series start in a dirty bathroom? And as anyone who's seen more than one action movie knows, bathrooms are always turning up as settings for fight scenes, what with faces getting slammed into mirrors or toilets and porcelain being cracked over heads.

Seriously, though, it's good just to know that the 007 series isn't dead, and we're happy to have another film with Craig coming our way. Had MGM's financial troubles meant the series remained on hold, it's possible Craig would have aged out of the role, and that would be disappointing indeed.

"Skyfall" will hit theaters in 2012. Between now and then, we're pretty sure some more elegant scenes will be shot.
